Sweden: Unlicensed operators spend over SEK1.0bn on TV ads

Figures for advertising expenditure by gambling operators in Sweden show a significant increase in spending by unlicensed operators in 2013.

According to figures from SIFO-TNS, released Friday by regulatory authority Lotteriinspektionen, unlicensed operators spent SEK1.08bn (approx. €119m) on television advertising during 2013, an increase of 38 per cent versus the previous year.

This compares to spending of SEK617m by Sweden's licensed operators, primarily Svenska Spel, ATG and national lotteries such as Postcode Lottery and Bingolotto. The licensed [...]
