Sweden's proposed re-regulation of the gambling market has led to the launch of a new operator association comprised primarily of the market's current monopoly operators, setting up a showdown with a rival association made up of private operators.
The National Gaming Industry Organisation (Spelbranschens Riksorganisation) will be the new name of SPER, Sweden's current gambling ethics council, whose remit will be extended beyond its current focus on gambling advertising and regulatory issues.
