Nearly three months after the opening of the first legal casino in Singapore, the country's second casino resort, the $5.5 bn Marina Bay Sands casino, has now opened its doors after receiving a casino licence from Singapore's Casino Regulatory Authority.
Singapore overturned a ban on casinos in 2005 in an effort to attract lucrative business away from Southeast Asian rival Macao, inviting proposals to develop two Integrated Resorts with casinos at Marina Bayfront and Sentosa.
