British bookmaker Ladbrokes plc has entered into a joint venture agreement with CANAL+, France's leading pay TV provider, to launch an online betting and gaming service under new French gaming legislation approved Tuesday.
The 50-50 joint venture agreement, which is conditional upon competition law clearances and subject to the new regulations, will see each party invest an initial £2.25m to fund the business.
