Bally’s Corporation has celebrated the official opening of Bally’s Marquette after its transformation from a riverboat casino to a permanent land-based facility.

Based in northeast Iowa, Bally’s has invested $26.2 million to move the venue from river to land, with the new 31,280-sq. ft gaming and entertainment destination opening its doors to the public last Friday.

Inside the venue, two levels of gaming showcase the latest in casino entertainment, with more than 400 slot machines and electronic table games, live blackjack and Ultimate Texas Hold ‘Em, as well as a modern sportsbook.

“The official transformation to Bally’s Marquette represents a defining moment for our team, guests and the community,” said Robin Corbeil, Bally’s Marquette vice president and general manager. “With our move ashore complete, Bally’s Marquette delivers a modern gaming experience, expanded dining offerings and a welcoming atmosphere that honors our riverfront roots while positioning us for the future.”

The landslide move has created nearly 80 new jobs and strengthened the property’s long-term investment in regional tourism and economic development.

Bally’s Marquette was previously known as Casino Queen Marquette, and was rebranded following Bally’s acquisition of The Queen Casino & Entertainment last year.

The riverboat casino first opened in 1994 as Miss Marquette, and has also operated as Isle of Capri Marquette (2000-2008), and Lady Luck Casino Marquette (2008-2017).

Shares in Bally’s Corporation (NYSE:BALY) closed 2.61 per cent lower at $12.69 per share in New York Friday.
