New York-listed supplier International Game Technology (IGT) has extended its US sports betting footprint through a new multi-state agreement with Delaware North Companies Gaming & Entertainment.

The deal will see IGT provide its retail and mobile sports betting platform in West Virginia at Delaware North’s Mardi Gras Casino & Resort and Wheeling Island Hotel Casino Racetrack.

The two casinos had initially launched their sportsbooks in December 2018 but have been offline since March of last year following a contract dispute with technology provider Miomni.

The agreement with Delaware North will also see IGT power a retail sportsbook in Arkansas for Southland Casino Racing in West Memphis.

“Delaware North is confidently partnering with IGT to deliver sports betting to our customers and the many sports fans in West Virginia and Arkansas through world-class IGT PlaySports technology,” said Delaware North gaming division president Brian Hansberry.

“IGT is a serious sports betting technology provider with a proven commitment to customer success, excellent global reputation, and a reliable, omni-channel sports betting solution for the U.S. market. We believe the IGT PlaySports solution will help us establish Delaware North as a preferred sports betting provider in West Virginia and Arkansas while enabling us to further reward our Lucky North Club members."

In addition to West Virginia and Arkansas, Delaware North operates casinos and other gaming properties in New York, Illinois, Florida, Ohio, Arizona, and Australia.

“We're proud to add Delaware North to our growing list of US-based customers leveraging PlaySports technology to offer reliable, best-in-class sports betting experiences to their patrons,” said IGT PlayDigital senior vice president Enrico Drago.

“Delaware North can count on IGT's experienced team and trusted technology to help build a sports betting business that can scale for the opportunities of today and the future.”

IGT currently powers sportsbooks in 11 US states, including Oregon, Indiana, Iowa, New York, Pennsylvania, Mississippi, Rhode Island, New Jersey and Nevada.

Shares in International Game Technology plc (NSQ:IGT) closed down 4.18 per cent at $13.52 per share in New York Monday.
