Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) has confirmed the appointment of Francis Lui Yiu Tung as chairman of the board of directors.

Yiu Tung assumes the role held by his late father and founder of GEG, Lui Che Woo.

The board of Galaxy expressed confidence in Yiu Tung’s ability to continue his father’s work and grow the company, having served as its deputy chairman since 1997. He also serves as a vice chair of the Macau Institute for Tourism Studies.

In 2005, GEG became the first integrated tourism and leisure company to be listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and was added to the Hang Sang Index in 2013.

“I am truly grateful for the guidance and support of Dr Lui over the years,” said Yiu Tung. “I will continue to work closely with the Board and all of our team members to realise Dr Lui’s vision for GEG to become the world’s leading integrated tourism and leisure company and to contribute to the development of the country.”
