Mazij’s resignation offer comes after 55% of shareholders rejected his re-election
Bragg Gaming Group’s annual general meeting has seen shareholders vote against the re-election of chief executive Matevž Mazij as a director.
At the annual general meeting (AGM) held on Thursday June 18, Bragg shareholders voted to re-elect Holly Gagnon, Mark Clayton, Thomas Winter, Donald Robertson and Aaron Baryoseph as directors.
However, Mazij’s re-election was opposed by 55.67 per cent of shareholders, falling below the required threshold for re-election. As a result, Mazij has offered to resign from Bragg’s board of directors.
The company said that Mazij will continue to serve as a director until his resignation offer is accepted and becomes effective, or until a successor is appointed, but no later than 90 days after the date of the AGM.
Mazij is the founder of Bragg predecessor Oryx Gaming and has served on the Board of Bragg since February 2021. He took over as chief executive officer in August 2023 from Yaniv Sherman.
Last month, Bragg agreed a deal to acquire games developer Drayton International in an all-share transaction. As part of the transaction, Tekkorp chief executive Matt Davey will take over as non-executive chairman of Bragg from Holly Gagnon, who will remain on the Board as an independent director.
Shares in Bragg Gaming Group (TSE:BRAG) have lost over 58 per cent of their value in the past twelve months and closed in Toronto Friday at CA$2.39 per share, down 4.02 per cent.
