Former National Lottery CEO will assume his new role next month
Racecourse Media Group (RMG) has named former Camelot chief executive officer Nigel Railton as its next chairman.
Railton is the current chairman of Post Office, the postal service of the United Kingdom, and previously served as chief executive of Camelot UK, the former operator of the National Lottery.
RMG, which manages media rights for various UK and Ireland horse racecourses, noted that Railton’s appointment brings extensive board-level, commercial and leadership experience to the group.

Nigel brings an outstanding blend of commercial leadership, governance experience and strategic vision, gained through a career leading some of the UK’s most recognisable and highly regulated organisations,” said RMG director James Sanderson.
“His track record of delivering growth, embracing innovation and building strong relationships with stakeholders makes him an ideal fit for RMG and our shareholder racecourses. As we look to the future of racing media rights and fan engagement, Nigel’s leadership will be a tremendous asset to the business and the sport.”
Railton will assume his new role on 1 October, succeeding Conor Grant, the current Fanatics Gaming and former Flutter Entertainment executive who has served as chairman of RMG since April 2023.
