Gaming technology supplier Aristocrat Technologies has appointed former Playtech sales vice president Iain London to the newly-created role of product management and business development director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

London is a veteran of the industry, holding positions with operators and suppliers in Europe, Africa and the Asia-Pacific region, most recently working as vice president of international for video bingo developer Zitro.

Having begun his career with South African operator Sun International in 1992, he has worked for a number of businesses such as Casino Magic, where he was slots manager, and MaxBet Gaming where he served as operations director.

On the supplier side, he has worked for Atronic International as general manager of its African business before moving to Progressive Gaming International, and perhaps most notably Playtech.

He joined the solutions giant in 2009, serving as vice president of sales for its land-based gaming subsidiary Videobet, holding the role until 2013.

Aristocrat managing director for the EMEA region James Boje explained that in order to create a more customer-focused business, the supplier had split its sales and product management functions as part of a regional restructuring.

“Iain has a proven track record across many areas of our industry and his experience and expertise will be instrumental in steering the successful delivery of Aristocrat’s growing, market-leading product portfolio across the EMEA region,” Boje explained.

Shares in Aristocrat Leisure Limited (Co. Data) (ASX:ALL) closed down 1.26 per cent at AUD$8.62 per share in Sydney earlier Wednesday.
