Swedish mobile transaction specialist Zimpler has appointed Henrik Lindberg as its new chief technology officer.

He joins from Swedish gaming monopoly operator Svenska Spel, where was a senior analyst focusing on unhealthy gaming patterns. He had taken on the role after Svenska Spel’s acquisition of Playscan, a tool to identify risk players, of which Lindberg was one of the developers.

As Zimpler’s CTO, he will lead the development team and the continued development of the company’s payment solution.

“With his experience from Svenska Spel and Playscan, Henrik brings a unique knowledge when it comes to analysing betting patterns, behaviour and its consequences,” said Zimpler’s co-founder and CEO Kristofer Ekman Sinclair.

“As CTO, he will play a key role in the development of our service, and thus his knowledge will be available for the entire online gaming market.”

Lindberg said following his appointment: “I joined Zimpler because I believe the tool has a huge potential to influence peoples gaming habits in a positive direction, while at the same time providing a solution to the challenge the online gaming industry faces with mobile payments.

“There are lots of facts and research in this area and one of the most important insights is that users are looking for tools to control their gaming. I am looking forward to contribute with all my knowledge and experience to the development of Zimpler and to the industry at large.”
