Austrian gaming giant Novomatic Group has promoted the head of its South and Central American business to take charge of global sales across the company.
Lawrence Levy, who has served as senior vice president of the regions since January 2015, has been named vice president of global sales and will oversee sales and product developments in territories such as the US, Africa, Asia and Australia.
He begins his new role today (February 1st), reporting directly to Novomatic chief executive Harald Neumann.
Neumann said Levy’s appointment signalled his company's clear commitment to strategic expansion.
Levy has worked for Novomatic since 2009, when he served as general manager of Novomatic Peru, joining from Asian and Latin American-focused hospitality giant Thunderbird Resorts.
He entered the gaming industry by working as a croupier, before progressing through the ranks into senior management positions for a number of land-based businesses. In his career to date he has worked for the likes of Cirsa, Casinos Poland and Queenco, in countries such as Argentina, Morocco and Uganda, among others.
"The requirements of our customers vary in each market," Levy said. "Thanks to my experience in more than 17 countries, I am familiar with local conditions and individual needs of the various markets.
"I am able to use this knowledge to understand what casino operators need in terms of product, technology, innovation and customer service."
