London-listed betting and gaming operator Paddy Power Betfair has appointed Jan Bolz as an independent non-executive director.

Bolz is an experienced iGaming executive, having served as chief executive of Malta-licensed operator Tipico between 2011 and 2016.

He has also served at Electronic Arts in a number of positions including vice president of international marketing and sales, and for Bertelsmann Music Group as managing director of its BMG Ariloa Munich subsidiary.

He brings a wealth of global experience across a number of different industry groups, most recently in the sports betting industry where he led the very progressive development of Tipico to its successful sale in 2016. His background and experience will be of significant benefit to the Board."

Effective September 6th, Bolz joins Zillah Byng-Thorne, Michael Cawley, Emer Timmons, Peter Jackson, Padraig O’Riordan and Peter Rigby as an independent non-executive director.

Also sitting on the Paddy Power Betfair board are chairman McGann, chief financial officer Alex Gersh, senior independent director Ian Dyson and soon-to-depart CEO Breon Corcoran.

Shares in Paddy Power Betfair plc (Co.Data) (LSE:PPB) closed in London Tuesday up 2.01 per cent at 7,110.00 pence per share.
