Maryland Governor Larry Hogan has appointed John Martin as director of the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency, ahead of the the opening of the state's regulated sports betting market.
Martin has served as managing director and chief revenue officer of the state lottery and gaming regulator since 2015 and succeeds Gordon Medenica, who announced his retirement in April.
