Malta-headquartered slot developer Octoplay has named former Red Tiger Gaming chief executive Gavin Hamilton as its new chairman.

The appointment is subject to regulatory approval and marks Hamilton’s return to the B2B sector after leaving Evolution in June 2022 following its acquisition of NetEnt and Red Tiger.

Having served as CEO of Red Tiger, chief operating officer of NetEnt and commercial director at Evolution, Hamilton will join forces with some of his former colleagues in his new role at Octoplay.

Octoplay said Hamilton’s appointment is strategically aligned with the company’s ambitious plans to make a significant impact in the United States.

“As we embark on a transformative journey in 2024, Octoplay is poised for a pivotal year,” said Octoplay CEO Carl Ejlertsson. “Gavin’s invaluable experience in navigating the intricacies of scaling a business into diverse regulated markets will undoubtedly expedite our development.”

Commenting on his appointment, Hamilton said: “I am thrilled to be joining Octoplay as chairman. I am impressed by what they have achieved in such a short period and am excited to be part of the delivery of the strategy going forward.

“For Octoplay to have already secured partnerships with most of the world’s largest operators is a significant endorsement of their commitment to product excellence and innovation.”
