Inspired appoints Simona Camilleri as general counsel

New York-listed gaming supplier Inspired Entertainment has appointed Simona Camilleri as general counsel.

Camilleri will succeed Carys Damon as general counsel on 1 July, with Damon continuing to serve the company as corporate secretary.

Camilleri brings nearly two decades of experience in the legal and compliance field, having held various leadership roles at Sportingtech, Casumo, Payhound, Booming Games and Betclic Everest Group. Her experience also includes serving as UK counsel for Scientific Games.

“We are thrilled to welcome Simona as Inspired’s general counsel,” said Inspired president and CEO Brooks Pierce. “I have had the pleasure of working with her at Scientific Games UK Group and know firsthand the value she will brings to our organization. Simona’s expertise in both the commercial, legal, and regulatory side of gaming will be invaluable for Inspired as we continue to build our business globally.

In related news, Inspired has rolled outs its Virtual Sports products in Spain for the first time through Luckia’s online platform.

This follows the recent launch of its Virtual Sports content in New Jersey with Rush Street Interactive’s BetRivers earlier this month.

“We are delighted to partner with Luckia and deliver our Virtuals products to the Spanish market for the first time,” said Ian Freeman, chief commercial officer of Virtual Sports at Inspired. “European players are already familiar with Virtual Sports, and we look forward to increasing Luckia’s offering with our award-winning collection of products.”

Luckia Gaming head of product Eloy Fernande added: “We are excited to be able to offer sports fans and bettors access to Inspired’s truly transformative and ground-breaking games.

“We are confident that the introduction of Inspired’s products will complement our existing products, enable us to reach new audiences, and provide an engaging sports betting experience.”

Shares in Inspired Entertainment Inc (NASDAQ:INSE) gained 4.11 per cent to close at $9.62 per share in New York Wednesday.
