Casino games provider Games Global has paid out a record €38.5 million prize through its WowPot! progressive jackpot.
The WowPot! was hit at the end of last month on Wheel of Wishes, a slot developed by Games Global studio Alchemy Gaming.
The record €38.5 million payout surpasses the previous online jackpot record of €19.4 million on Games Global’s Mega Moolah progressive jackpot.
“This is a monumental moment for both Games Global and the entire iGaming industry,” said Games Global chief product officer Andy Booth. “We could not be prouder to be home to the largest online slot jackpot win.
“We would also like to extend our congratulations to the winner on this celebration. Now that it has been won, our job is to reset it and go again, hopefully making another record-breaking jackpot in the process.”
WowPot!’s previous top jackpot of €17.5 million was hit on ALL FOR ONE Studios’ Book of Atem WowPot! game in 2021.
To date, WowPot! has paid out more than €225 million to more than 5.3 million players in total, across all linked games and jackpot tiers, dropping wins every 15 seconds on average during 2023.
“When we debuted Wheel of Wishes back in 2020, little did we know the incredible impact its central progressive jackpot would have,” said Alchemy Gaming head of studio Rory Harpur. “Not only is this latest WowPot! win the first top-tier jackpot to strike on the game, it’s also the largest online slot jackpot win. A truly historic day for the Alchemy team, for our partners at Games Global, and in the wider industry.”
Games Global also revealed this week that €13.5 million was won by a Betway player on Christmas Eve on Book of Mega Moolah. The win marks the eighth largest online slots prize in history.
