Flutter Entertainment-owned FanDuel Group has been named as an official fantasy sports partner of the XFL American football league ahead of its inaugural season opener this weekend.
The agreement gives FanDuel access to official XFL data, as well as league and team branding for use across its official daily fantasy football offerings.
FanDuel and the XFL will also collaborate on custom content and special promotions including social giveaways with XFL prizing during the 2020 season.
“The XFL and FanDuel share the goal of creating compelling digital fan experiences and finding new ways to engage fans both at home and attending live sporting events,” said FanDuel Group president Kip Levin. “By teaming up directly with the XFL in the league’s inaugural season, we can work together to give our fantasy customers more ways to play, and XFL fans a new way to engage with the games.”
XFL president and chief operating officer Jeffrey Pollack commented: “Fantasy sports is an essential part of the football fan experience and we’re thrilled to be partnering with FanDuel, a leader in this space, to provide XFL fans additional ways to connect to our games.
“We’re looking forward to showcasing our new league and exciting brand of football to FanDuel’s customers.”
The deal follows a similar agreement between the XFL and FanDuel rival DraftKings earlier this week.
