Betfred selects Scientific Games to power Pennsylvania sportsbook

British bookmaker Betfred has selected Scientific Games to power its sports betting launch in Pennsylvania.

Betfred is partnered with Pennsylvania’s Wind Creek Casino & Resort Bethlehem to offer a full retail and online sportsbook, and is expected to open its retail sportsbook during the first half of this year.

Betfred will use Scientific Games’ OpenSports platform for both channels, with the online sportsbook slated for launch ahead of the start of the 2020/21 NFL season.

Shares in Scientific Games Corp. (NSQ:SGMS) closed up 5.61 per cent at $27.88 per share in New York Wednesday.
