The Cordish Companies has opened a new $270 million Live! Casino & Hotel venue in Bossier City, Louisiana.

The venue has more than 47,000 square feet of gaming space and hosts over 1,000 slot machines and electronic table games, as well as 40 live tables and a DraftKings sportsbook.

The new venue is projected to generate $35 million in gaming tax revenue for Bossier City and $168 million for the State of Louisiana within the first five years.

The operator was joined by several stakeholders at the grand opening on 14 February, including Louisiana State Senator Sam L. Jenkins, Jr., State Representative Steven Jackson, Bossier City Mayor Thomas Chandler, and Louisiana Gaming Control Board chairman Christopher Hebert.

“Just over a year ago, we broke ground on what is now a world-class entertainment destination, a true game-changer for Bossier City. We are excited to bring the Live! brand to this region with this stunning property,” said Jon Cordish, principal of The Cordish Companies. “With every detail thoughtfully designed to deliver a premier guest experience, Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana is set to become the cornerstone of excitement, hospitality, and economic growth for this region.”

Louisiana Gaming Control Board chairman Christopher Hebert added: “It is truly an exciting time for the Shreveport-Bossier market and the entire Louisiana gaming industry as we open Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana to the public.

“It’s been some time since a new casino planted roots in our state, and already we are seeing the economic benefits with hundreds of job seekers finding employment. We look forward to many prosperous years with Live! Louisiana and The Cordish Companies.”
