Accel looks to capture market share in Illinois with launch of live tables games
Accel Entertainment is celebrating the launch of live table games this week at Fairmount Park Casino & Racing in Illinois.
The table games rollout offers players multiple blackjack tables with various limit options, as well as roulette and novelty games such as Ultimate Texas Hold ‘Em and I Luv Suits.
Accel said the launch of live tables games at Fairmount marks a major milestone in its racino evolution, having acquired the venue in December 2024.
The $35 million acquisition of Fairmount gave Accel an active horse racing track, a master sports betting license, and the opportunity to develop a legislatively authorized casino.
“We promised our patrons a full-scale gaming and entertainment destination, and we’re beginning to deliver on that promise,” said Vince Gabbert, general manager of Fairmount Park.
“By offering table games, we’re providing a level of energy and social interaction our players have asked for. We are committed to continuing to enhance the racino experience and look forward to welcoming patrons in the Metro East and the greater St. Louis area to Fairmount for great thoroughbred racing, live table game action, over 250 exciting slots and a great variety of food and beverage offerings.”
The 2026 live horse racing season at Fairmount Park began on April 14 and runs until October 2027.
Fairmount was Illinois’ smallest casino by revenue in March, the latest month for which figures are available.
Fairmount earned adjusted gross revenue of $2.17 million from slots and electronic table games in March, placing it seventeenth among 17 active casinos in Illinois. The casino opened in April 2025.
Accel Entertainment will report its financial results for the first quarter of 2026 on May 5.
Shares in Accel Entertainment Inc. (NYSE:ACEL) gained 2.46 per cent to close at $12.49 per share in New York Wednesday.
