Sponsorships and mobile advances drive NetPlay TV growth in Q3

16th October 2013 7:47 am GMT

Live TV gaming specialist NetPlay TV has reported a 19 per cent increase in total net revenues to £6.5m, benefiting from strong contributions from its mobile and tablet products which saw revenues more than double over the past year.

Revenues from mobile and tablet gaming rose 171 per cent compared to the same period last year, with the channel accounting for 40 per cent of new depositing players and 32 per cent of total net revenues, compared to 14 per cent in the prior year.

This contributed to a 19 per cent year-on-year rise in net revenues which grew to £6.5m for the third quarter.

Growth was attributed in part to the deal which saw the Alderney licensee’s SuperCasino.com brand sponsor reality TV series Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother, driving a 30 per cent rise in new depositing casino players.

The quarter also saw active depositing casino players rise 29 per cent to 28,890, while average daily net revenue managed to withstand the effects of the UK summer heat wave to rise 19 per cent year-on-year, despite a reduction in total player numbers for July.

However, Q3 was unable to match the performance of the previous quarter, with net revenues falling 9 per cent quarter-on-quarter.

The company’s board commented that it was pleased with NetPlay’s “continued strong performance,” adding it was “confident of meeting full year market expectations.”

Shares in NetPlay TV plc (Co. Data) (AIM:NPT) have gained 4.71 per cent to 17.67 pence per share in London this morning following the announcement.
