Foxwoods Interactive & GameAccount launch first virtual currency site

5th February 2014 10:00 am GMT

Foxwoods Interactive has launched a virtual currency online gaming site on the Foxwoods Resort website.

GameAccount Network has built the online casino, which is stocked with a selection of slots the newly-listed UK company has transferred online for partners such as Ainsworth Game Technology, Incredible Technologies and Multimedia Games.

“There is a huge demand for this from our player base,” said Foxwoods Interactive chief FrankPracukowski. “We have six million players on our database and half-a-million hits on our website each month. We want to show off the metrics and show that this works.”

The virtual casino is the first fruit of the GameAccount-Foxwoods partnership, which was announced in April last year. The two companies aim to provide an online gaming solution to other operators across the US.

The slots and table games sit on a tab on the Foxwoods.com home page. It is not a pure freeplay solution as players can buy virtual credits. You get a virtual $5000 free but can purchase, for example, a virtual $7000 for $4.90 or a virtual $900,000 for $199. In addition you get 10 per cent on your Foxwoods rewards card that can be used for any item or on any game at Foxwoods Resort.

Pracukowski said the goal of the virtual currency site was to retain and reactivate customers in its database; to acquire new players; to test virtual currency and convergence marketing; and finally, to prepare for real money gaming.

“I would think that should be the goal of every land-based casino across America,” he said.

The site plugs directly into Foxwoods’ own casino management system and could be switched to accept real money if regulations allowed it.
