Gaming supplier Inspired has confirmed that it will supply 3,960 video lottery terminals (VLTs) to Greek gaming operator OPAP following the introduction of new regulations in the Greek market.

With the formal announcement of new VLT regulations by the Hellenic Gaming Commission last week, OPAP is set to restart the roll-out of VLTs which it suspended last year.

Inspired will be one of four VLT suppliers working with OPAP, alongside Scientific Games, Synot Group and IGT, and will commence the rollout of 3,960 VLT cabinets across the extensive OPAP retail network in 2017.

OPAP aims to launch around 35,000 VLTs in total across its network, the first 16,500 of which were originally scheduled to launch in June 2015.

Inspired chief executive Luke Alvarez said that he was delighted that a fully regulated VLT operation will now be in place in Greece.

“This news will enable us to commence the rollout of our VLT cabinets in 2017; a significant and exciting moment both for the landscape of the gaming market in Greece, and for Inspired,” he said.

“We are proud to one of only four four suppliers to OPAP, one of Europe’s most established and respected operators, and look forward to a successful and long-term business partnership.”
