US iGaming growth continues in second quarter; Flutter Entertainment names Dan Taylor as next CEO; Kambi enters Nevada with Station Casinos; Scientific Games CEO Pat McHugh set to retire; plus the week’s other news from North America.

US iGaming growth continues in second quarter of 2026

Revenue growth from regulated US iGaming continued to be strong in the second quarter of 2026, and was up by 17 per cent to $2.83 billion.

The second quarter was the sector’s best quarter for revenue, and the growth meant that the total for the first half of the year surpassed $5.5 billion.

Regulated first half iGaming revenue in the US was up by 18 per cent to $5.62 billion.

Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania continue to account for the vast majority of iGaming revenue, of the seven states currently offering iGaming in the US.

Maryland

Maryland’s six land-based casinos posted a 5 per cent fall in revenue for July to $157.9 million. Slot machine revenue was down by 2 per cent to $115.5 million, while table gaming revenue was 11 per cent less than July 2025 at $42.4 million. MGM National Harbor was the market leader but revenue fell by 12 per cent to $60.2 million, ahead of Live! Casino’s $59.2 million.

Montana

Montana’s sports wagers declined by 2 per cent to $3.6 million in July, the lowest month of 2026 so far. Despite the overall decline, soccer betting had another strong month and generated wagers of $948,460. Baseball was the leading sport on wagers of $1.8 million, while Basketball took wagers of $413,257. Monthly revenue from sports betting fell by 7 per cent to $576,321, at a margin of 15.8 per cent, which was the highest of the year.

Kentucky

Back into June, Kentucky’s sports wagers rose by 27 per cent to $222.7 million, but gross revenue was down year-on-year. Online sports betting grew by 28 per cent to $219.3 million and retail betting was unchanged from June 2025 at $3.4 million. Gross revenue slipped by 12 per cent to $20.2 million, including a 13 per cent decline in online betting revenue to $19.7 million. 

Ohio

Ohio’s four land-based casinos reported gaming revenue of $84.9 million in June, which was a 3 per cent year-on-year rise. Monthly gaming revenue comprised $62.8 million from the 5,827 slots and $22.1 million from the casinos’ 366 gaming tables. Hollywood Columbus was the leading casino on revenue of $26.2 million, while the state’s other three casinos were all closely matched by revenue.

Colorado

Colorado’s sports wagers rose 14 per cent to $426.1 million, with soccer wagering more than trebling to $72.6 million as the FIFA World Cup began. Baseball was the second-best sport for wagering with wagers of $64.6 million and basketball took $54.8 million. Despite the strong wagering growth, monthly gross revenue fell by 22 per cent to $31.2 million, the lowest month of 2026 so far. The overall win margin was 7.3 per cent, down from 10.7 per cent in June 2025.

Virginia

In Virginia sports wagers rose by 23 per cent to $589.2 million in June, with a 24 per cent increase in online betting to $586.0 million offsetting a 37 per cent drop on retail wagers to $3.2 million. Both gross win and adjusted revenue were down, by 1 per cent and 2 per cent respectively. Total gross win was $59.9 million, while adjusted revenue for tax was 2 per cent less than the prior year period at $55.9 million.

New Hampshire

New Hampshire’s gaming revenue rose by 37 per cent to $251.7 million in the first six months of 2026, including a 31 per cent jump in June revenue to $42.4 million. Of the monthly total, $21.6 million came from gaming machines (VLTs), which offset a 56 per cent drop in revenue from the state’s historic horse racing sector to $10.3 million. Monthly revenue from charity gaming increased by 17 per cent to $10.4 million.

Missouri

Missouri sportsbooks reported June sports wagers of $258.3 million, comprising mobile sports wagers of $253.3 million and retail betting of $5.0 million. The overall monthly gross win margin was 9.5 per cent, dropping below 10 per cent for the first time. Monthly gross win was $24.6 million, the state’s lowest monthly win in its seven months of regulated sports betting.

Ontario

North of the border, Ontario’s wagering on iGaming jumped by 30 per cent in June to C$9.46 billion, as online casino wagering rose by the same percentage to C$8.30 billion. Sports betting grew by 35 per cent to C$1.03 billion and online poker bets fell by 4 per cent to C$126 million, marking the lowest monthly total of the first half of 2026. Monthly revenue from iGaming was up 31 per cent at C$400.6 million, with online casino win growing 30 per cent to C$316.8 million.

DraftKings recorded a 5 drop in revenue for the second quarter of 2026, with higher expenses pushing the company to a loss for the period.

Full House Resorts reported a 6 per cent increase in revenue to $78.1 million for the second quarter, benefiting from a record performance from American Place Casino in Illinois.

Sega Sammy Holdings posted a 17.4 per cent increase in net sales to ÂĄ95.03 billion (approx. $603.8 million) for its fiscal first quarter ended 30 June 2026.

Flutter Entertainment reported a 3 per cent increase in revenue to $4.33 billion for the second quarter, with growth in International revenue offsetting a decline in the United States.

PENN Entertainment returned to profit in the second quarter as revenue increased by 5 per cent to $1.86 billion.

Light & Wonder benefited from growth in its gaming and iGaming businesses in the second quarter, offsetting a fall in social gaming revenue from SciPlay.

Inspired Entertainment recorded a 24 per cent fall in revenue for the second quarter, with only the interactive segment showing year-on-year growth.

Genius Sports reported a 65 per cent increase in group revenue to $195.5 million for the second quarter, boosted by the first contributions from the newly acquired Legend business.

Super Group is raising its full year guidance after posting an 18 per cent increase in revenue to $684 million for the second quarter, as monthly active customers grew to 6.2 million.

Wynn Resorts grew total operating revenue in the second quarter by 7 per cent to $1.86 billion, with net income for the period more than doubling to $140.1 million.

Accel Entertainment reported a 10 per cent increase in net revenue to $368.1 million for the second quarter, benefiting from growth across all of its operating markets in the United States.

Brightstar Lottery reported a 7 per cent drop in revenue to $684 million for the second quarter, following a 20 per cent decline in product sales.

Sportradar Group reported a 19 per cent increase in revenue to $377.8 million for the second quarter, with revenue from the United States growing by 16 per cent to $101.8 million.

Red Rock Resorts reported a 3 per cent drop in net revenue to $510.3 million for the second quarter, with adjusted EBITDA declining 9 per cent to $208.0 million.

Konami Group Corp. reported an 8 per cent increase in total revenue to a record ÂĄ129.52 billion (approx. $822.5 million) for its fiscal first quarter ended June 30, with growth across all business segments.

Gaming and Leisure Properties Inc. (GLPI) raised its full-year guidance after posting record revenue of $430.5 million for the second quarter of 2026.
