Shanghai-based YooZoo Games has launched Poker Champions, a new social casino product targeting the Indian gaming market, in partnership with KamaGames.

Based on KamaGames' flagship Pokerist title, Poker Champions' graphics have been tweaked in the white label product, while in-game mechanics have been made more fast-paced for players used to quicker rummy games.

"This is an especially good time for a major mobile game launch in India," KamaGames Ireland managing director Andrey Kuznetsov said. "We know that the average time Indian consumers spend on their phones has increased by 50 per cent in 2017 and with the continued increase in smartphone penetration, it is expected to lead to a higher mobile commerce spend."

Poker Champions has launched through a partnership with Shanghai-based Yoozoo Games, sealed in October last year, and is available via the Google Play Store and Apple's App Store.

Chief executive of Yoozoo Games India Anuj Tandon added: "Texas Hold'em Poker is the fastest growing social casino game in India.

"With Poker Champions, we are bringing a world class poker experience to Indian gamers where they will be able to play with real players from the first day of launch. It is a major initiative by Yoozoo to capture the growing Indian mobile gaming market."

India has seen rapid growth in the popularity of mobile apps over the past year, following the roll-out of unlimited 4G access by telecommunications giant Reliance Jio Infocomm in September 2016. This saw the company leapfrog the US into the second-largest market for app usage in the world, after China.

The deal further strengthens KamaGames' white label business, which currently works with partners such as TV show Poker Night in America and mobile messaging services Tango and Viber.

"We feel that by working with such an influential company as Yoozoo who have a strong proven track record in bringing mobile games to a wide Asian audience is yet another strong partnership to be proud of," Kuznetsov said.
