Boyd Gaming has reportedly acquired Resorts Digital, the online gaming arm of Resorts Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
The Associated Press reports that Resorts Casino president Mark Giannantonio confirmed the sale on Monday, stating that the transaction was finalised on September 1.
The acquisition includes the operations of ResortsCasino.com and MoheganSunCasino.com, which operate in New Jersey under Resorts Casino’s license alongside DraftKings, ESPN Bet and PokerStars.
The latter three brands will continue their relationship with Resorts Casino.
Resorts Digital is New Jersey’s leading online operator with total gaming revenue of almost $429 million in the first half of 2024, of which approximately $291 million came from iGaming and the remainder from sports betting.
Boyd Gaming generated revenue of $1.93 billion in the first half of this year, including Online revenue of $276.1 million, making it the company’s fastest growing segment. This includes the company’s share in FanDuel’s sports betting operations.
The value of the Resorts Digital transaction has not been disclosed.
Shares in Boyd Gaming Corporation (NYSE:BYD) closed 0.31 per cent higher at $64.23 per share in New York Monday and were unchanged in after hours.
