Newly established independent slot developer Exco Game Studio is set to launch its first title next week with the release of Vegascaline.
Founded by Yggdrasil founder and former CEO Fredrik Elmqvist (pictured), Exco aims to disrupt the online slot games market with a focus on game development shaped by player interests and emerging industry trends.
Exco’s first release, Vegascaline, will be launched at the SBC Summit in Lisbon next week, with a further five titles to follow in quick succession, headlining a roadmap of over 30 games.
Exco will also launch its Gamex mechanic suite, which features several key components that will power each of the studio’s releases.
“I’m going to be honest, the industry has become a bit tired and lazy, stuck in a cycle of uninspiring product rollouts, sequels and reskins, which is why we’ve launched Exco,” said Elmqvist.
“Our approach to development is that we won’t ship what we won’t play. We’re looking to stand out with our artistic flair and superb mechanics, and we’ve been working for some time to create an exciting roadmap of games that will genuinely shake things up.”
