Madrid-headquartered betting and gaming operator Codere Group has launched a new online gaming platform in Italy, as it looks to expand its presence in the market.

Codere Italy aims to create a new omni-channel experience for its players after expanding into the digital space under regulations set by the Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli (ADM). The new platform gives players access to online sports betting, poker, virtual sports and lottery games.

“With Codere.it we are taking a natural but strategic step: to also resolutely consolidate the online segment, keeping intact our identity as a committed, regulated operator close to the customer,” said Codere Italia regional manager Alejandro Pascual. “Our goal is to offer a consistent and quality omnichannel experience. Codere is strongly interested in developing collaborations with partners in the sector, particularly with those already operating in the national territory and wish to continue operating online with the support of a solid and trusted brand.”

Roberto Russo, director of online operations at Codere Italia, commented: “Codere.it was created with the ambition of offering an online experience that meets the highest international standards, combining technology, usability, and premium content. We have built a solid and scalable platform, ready to grow and adapt to the needs of our users and partners.

“Our approach is long-term, with the goal of creating a safe gaming ecosystem capable of consolidating itself as a benchmark in the Italian market.”

Codere Group began operating in Italy’s land-based gaming sector with the opening of Sala Bingo Re in Roma in 2001, and now operates nearly 7,000 slot machines and more than 5,000 bingo seats across 10 venues.

The group also owns Codere Online, which operates in the Spanish and Latin American iGaming markets.

Shares in Codere Online Luxembourg SA (NASDAQ:CDRO) closed 3.24 per cent lower at $6.86 per share in New York Friday.
