South Dakota’s land-based casinos reported 10 per cent growth in gambling turnover for January to $121.5 million.
Slot machine wagering in South Dakota increased by 9 per cent to $112.2 million and table gaming wagers jumped by 25 per cent to $8.2 million.
Retail sports wagering in the casinos was up by 5 per cent year-on-year to $1.1 million.
In the casinos, the 1-cent slot machines took bets of $93.1 million and the $1 machines took $8.8 million.
Blackjack was the most popular table game in the casinos with bets of $3.9 million and poker betting in January was $3.5 million.
Wagering on American football in January was $634,447 and $363,641 on basketball.
Revenue from all activities in South Dakota rose by 4 per cent to $11.1 million, with $9.8 million coming from slot machines.
Table gaming win improved by 5 per cent to $1.3 million but sports betting win dropped by 66 per cent to $36,853.
After permitted deductions, South Dakota’s adjusted revenue was $10.6 million and gave total gambling tax of $951,502.
