Bingo resurgence in the United Kingdom gathers momentum as Buzz Bingo records first annual growth in both admissions and revenue in nearly 20 years
British bingo operator Buzz Bingo enjoyed strong momentum across its retail clubs and online platform in 2025, delivering an increase in both revenue and admissions for the first time since 2007.
Admissions in 2025 were up 2.5 per cent on the previous year, buoyed by growth of 5 per cent in the second half of the year, which the company attributed to its investment in bingo clubs and product innovations.
Buzz deployed more than 10,000 new electronic bingo touchpads and upgraded WiFi across all clubs during the year, which helped electronic play increase by 5.6 per cent, with the strongest growth among players aged over 65.
Refurbished bingo clubs also delivered strong performances, with upgraded venues recording 20 per cent growth in admissions and a 50 per cent increase in new customers.
Across all venues, customer momentum built throughout the year, with new customers increasing 13 per cent in H2 2025, driven by improvements to the player experience.
Buzz noted that its omnichannel strategy continues to play a central role in its growth, with active omnichannel customers increasing by 10 per cent in H2 2025. Online revenue from active retail customers also grew by 10 per cent.
The company said this was partly driven by the success of the Big Money Live game, which allows players to take part simultaneously in-club and online. Total prizes awarded on the game in 2025 came to more than £4 million.
The company added that online engagement through the Buzz Bingo app continued to grow, with stakes placed via the app more than doubling in the fourth quarter of 2025 compared to the previous year.
“Bingo is enjoying a real resurgence across the UK and we’re seeing that momentum across both our clubs and our online platform,” said Buzz Bingo CEO Dominic Mansour. “Delivering admissions and revenue growth together for the first time in nearly two decades shows that our investment in our omnichannel strategy including technology and innovation to improve the player experience is modernising the game and attracting a new generation of players. We expect to see even stronger growth in 2026 and beyond as we fully benefit from these investments.
“This performance is especially strong given the uncertainty around the Budget last year and, while we welcome the Government’s decision to abolish Bingo Duty, it will be important that the sector and omnichannel businesses in particular benefit from a stable regulatory environment so this positive momentum can continue.”
Buzz Bingo plans to accelerate its club transformation programme in 2026 with technology, venue and format upgrades.
