Sydney-listed casino operator strengthens board of directors with addition of experienced gaming and hospitality executive

Star Entertainment Group has expanded its board of directors with the appointment of Grant Bowie as a non-executive director.

Bowie will be an observer to Board and will join as a director once all regulatory and ministerial approvals have been obtained.

Bowie has over 40 years’ experience in tourism, gaming and hospitality. Starting his career in finance, he worked in a variety of roles in public accounting and consulting in New Zealand, the United States and Australia.

This included 16 years in a number of executive roles at Hilton Hotels in Australia, the last five years of which he was responsible for overseeing its Australian gaming and hospitality operations on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane.

In 2003, Bowie moved to Macau, working first for Wynn Resorts and then MGM Resorts, where was responsible for overall leadership, management, strategic development and expansion.

“I would like to welcome Grant to the Board and look forward to working with him to assist in delivering our strategic objectives and creating a sustainable future for The Star,” said chairman Soo Kim.

Following regulatory approval, Bowie will serve on the Board alongside Soo Kim, Bruce Mathieson Jr (CEO), George Papanier, Brooke Lindsay, and Don Pasquariello.

Shares in Star Entertainment Group Ltd (ASX:SGR) closed unchanged at A$0.12 per share in Sydney Thursday.
