Playtech is aiming to expand its number of land-to-online partnerships as it looks to exploit increased convergence between the two channels.

The most recent example of this is the company’s partnership with Mexican gaming operator Caliente, which will see Playtech expand on its 2012 iGaming supply deal to launch its retail betting software at 140 Caliente locations in Mexico and another 50 outlets throughout South America.

Playtech chief executive Mor Weizer told Gaming Intelligence that the company is currently examining opportunities in markets including Spain, Mexico and Italy, where Playtech could identify convergence between the retail and online gambling sectors.
