Stockholm-listed live casino specialist Evolution Gaming has opened a new studio in Tbilisi, Georgia.

The Tbilisi studio becomes the supplier's third major central production hub in Europe alongside its facilities in Riga, Latvia and Malta, and its ninth worldwide.

"At Evolution, we constantly strive to improve our service to our licensees and continue to increase our leadership in Live Casino," Evolution chief executive Martin Carlesund said. "The Tbilisi studio is no exception, as we have leveraged knowledge from over 10 years of building studios to create our most advanced facility yet.

"The new studio is an investment for the future and will support us in our ambitious development plans in the coming years."

The studio currently hosts 100 employees, and is to act as a service hub for multiple markets and licensees.

In the past year Evolution has moved to significantly enhance its studio space, expanding bases in Riga and the Romanian capital of Bucharest, as well as breaking ground on a facility in Vancouver, its first outside Europe.

"We are delighted that our latest major Live Casino studio in Tbilisi is now live and fully operational," Carlesund added. "Tbilisi is a fast-growing city of over one million people, offering strong development and investment opportunities, so it provided the perfect location for us. This is a large commitment and project for Evolution and I am proud to see the organisation delivering."

Shares in Evolution Gaming Group AB (STO:EVO) were trading up 2.97 per cent at SEK471.00 per share in Stockholm on Monday morning.
