International Game Technology (IGT) and William Hill US have expanded their partnership with the Rhode Island Lottery, launching sports betting at Twin River Casino's new Sportsbook Bar & Grill.
The venue opened last week with a range of pre-game and in-play bets across professional and college sports, and features more than 100 HD televisions to showcase the sporting action.
“We are excited to partner with the Rhode Island Lottery and IGT to bring a world-class sports betting product to Twin River Casino,” said William Hill US chief executive Joe Asher. “The lines have been out the door in the temporary facility, so we are glad the permanent sports book is now ready.
“William Hill is proud to be the only sports book to operate or provide services in all seven states that have authorized sports betting, with Rhode Island joining Nevada, Delaware, New Jersey, Mississippi, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.”
The expansion continues a successful partnership between IGT and William Hill, which began with the launch of sports betting at Rhode Island’s Tiverton Casino Hotel on December 3rd.
Twin River Casino Hotel began accepting bets at a temporary space on November 26th, prior to the opening of the Sportsbook Bar & Grill at the end of December. Across both venues, IGT is providing its PlayShot end-to-end sports betting platform, while William Hill provides odds making services and risk management.
“The seamless experiences our technology provides to players and operators alike is a tremendous source of pride, and I believe it’s a critical factor in why multiple operators have partnered with us to launch sportsbooks this year,” said Enrico Drago, senior vice president of IGT PlayDigital.
“In 2018 alone, PlayShot has processed more than $1 billion through multiple locations in five US states. We look forward to further promoting the advantages of this innovative digital platform as sports betting continues its expansion across the country.”
Outside of Rhode Island, IGT’s PlayShot platform powers sports betting operations in Nevada, New Jersey, Mississippi and West Virginia.
