Worldwide lottery sales increased by 13 per cent during the first quarter of 2012 following growth across all regions, according to latest figures released by the World Lottery Association.
The World Lottery Association (WLA), the umbrella organisation for state lottery and gaming operators, said that global lottery sales kept up the strong growth experienced at the end of 2011, with Africa, Asia, Latin America and North America all reporting double-digit increases in sales year-on-year.
