The Chinese lottery market generated total sales of RMB37.2bn (€4.6bn) during the month of July, an increase of 53 per cent compared to the same period last year, with the football World Cup significantly boosting Sports Lottery results.
According to data from China’s Ministry of Finance, Welfare Lottery sales increased by 24 per cent to RMB17.4bn, representing just under half of total lottery sales (47 per cent) during the month.
