Punter-friendly race results hit PMU first quarter revenue

French gaming operator Pari-Mutuel Urbain (PMU) has reported a 2.1 decline in first quarter revenue after punter-friendly horse racing results saw nine bettors become millionaires during the period, including one individual who won €5.5m.

Revenue for the first quarter fell to €618.8m, with all segments recording a decline over the same period a year ago. The largest generator of revenue, horse racing, saw gross gaming revenue fall 1.9 per cent to €604.2m, with amounts wagered down [...]
