Figures released by Sweden’s gambling regulator Lotteriinspektionen have shown that the country’s regulated gambling market declined during the first quarter of 2015, with unlicensed operators seeing market share grow.
Turnover from the regulated market fell 2 per cent to SEK3.95bn (€423.9m) in Q1, with turnover before winnings were paid of SEK9.57bn also falling by 2 per cent year-on-year. Including unlicensed operators, which generated turnover of SEK1.06bn, total market turnover was SEK5.01bn.
