NOVOMATIC’s attempt to take control of Casinos Austria has taken another turn after the country's authorities scuppered the deal over competition concerns.
The decision by the Austrian Cartel Court comes after months of negotiations over the conditions for closing the deal, with NOVOMATIC claiming that despite making a number of concessions, the entry conditions being forced on it were simply too stringent to benefit the business.
