The Tasmanian government has been forced to delay its renewed attempts to sell Tote Tasmania after the Tasmanian Greens party made a unanimous decision to adjourn debate on legislation that would block the government from selling the state-owned betting operator.
Despite being part of the country’s coalition government, the Greens are expected to support the opposition’s Tote Sale Repeal Bill, having been initially opposed to the state’s plans to sell Tote Tasmania in 2009.
