Wagers on US horseracing fell by 9 per cent to $819.0 million in October, setting the lowest monthly total of 2023.
The number of race days in October declined by 5 per cent to 317 and there were 2,610 races run, which was a decrease of 6 per cent on the same month last year.
Total available prize money was down by 10 per cent year-on-year to $108.6 million.
