Rhode Island’s sports betting handle slipped by 17 per cent to $45.8 million in October, with a rise in online sports betting mitigating a slump in retail betting.
Retail betting at the Twin River and Tiverton casinos fell by 55 per cent to $9.5 million, while online betting increased by 6 per cent to $36.4 million.
Despite the year-on-year wagering decline, October was still Rhode Island’s second-best month of 2023 so far.
