Bulgaria's leading sports news provider Sportal is set to launch a new social sports betting offering in partnership with Oddslife.

Sportal signed a three-year deal with Oddslife in January and will launch a World Cup-themed game by June 2nd, with a game featuring club teams to follow in time for start of the 2014-15 football season.

The Oddslife platform is designed to engage sports fans using a free-to-play predictions model where players compete against friends and other users in-play tournaments and daily competitions.

Oddslife’s social sportsbook solution includes a number of new features to help motivate users and boost engagement, including missions, profile badges, virtual trophies, leaderboards and prize systems. It is available via the web and iOS and Facebook Apps, with an Android version scheduled for launch in August.

Sportal chief executive Stilian Shishkov said the company's editorial and production teams had been greatly impressed at the capabilties of the Oddslife platform, prompting them to agree to a long-term deal with the company.

"We think this social betting offer is extremely engaging and entertaining and believe our customers think so as well," said Shishkov. "We are especially excited about the global competitions where our fans will battle it out against other media partners across countries."

Sportal is Bulgaria’s largest internet media group, with more than 2.8m monthly unique users visiting its Sportal.bg site.

The partnership expands Oddslife’s portfolio of high-profile media partners, which include Spain’s MARCA, Danish football portal Bold.dk, Greece’s Sportday, Sport FM and Nova Group.

"We are delighted that Sportal have embraced the social sports betting concept so enthusiastically," Oddslife chief executive and founder Rasmus Sojmark commented. "As one of the major media providers in Bulgaria they are a perfect partner for us. We will provide them with market leading software, consultancy and local country support and in return they provide us with marketing budgets and local operational expertise which are invaluable to any local partnership."
