Italian football faces up to latest match-fixing scandal

Allegations of match-fixing continue to damage the integrity of Italian football following confirmation Wednesday from the Italian football federation (FIGC) that it is investigating 22 clubs and 61 individuals involved in allegations of match-fixing.

Among the list of 22 clubs being investigated are three current Serie A clubs - Atalanta, Novara and Siena – although the match-fixing allegations relate to when the teams were playing in the country’s second division, Serie B.
