The influential Swedish National Audit Office recommended on Friday (June 29) that the government crack down on illegal foreign online gambling operators.
According to the Audit Office report on the Swedish gambling market, the government is failing to control an increase in problem gambling and brands research, prevention and enforcement controls as ineffective.
The report recommends the government “reviews how the national controls can be strengthened against foreign interests that do not hold a Swedish licence”.
