Dutch charity lotteries fined again for aggressive marketing tactics

The Netherlands’ postal and telecommunications watchdog has fined a number of Dutch charity lotteries €200,000 for sending out 78 million spam emails, less than a month after it was revealed that the lotteries have racked up more than €1m in fines for inapporpriate marketing activities.

The latest fine was issued Thursday by the watchdog OPTA against BankGiro Loterij, the Nationale Postcode Loterij, VriendenLoterij and the umbrella organization Holding Nationale Goede Doelen Loterijen (the charity lotteries).
