The government of the north German state of Schleswig-Holstein is reviewing a backlog of applications for sports betting licenses, with up to six new licenses expected to be issued within the coming weeks.

The Ministry of Interior confirmed to Gaming Intelligence Monday that the government is still considering its options with regard to repealing the liberal online gaming legislation introduced at the start of this year by the previous government, but until such time that the law is repealed, the government will uphold the current law.
