Welsh bookmaker is no longer allowed to accept bets online but can process customer withdrawals
Britain’s Gambling Commission has suspended the online betting and gaming licence of Welsh bookmaker Ken Howells.
The Gambling Commission announced the licence suspension on 21 September, citing concerns about the operator’s compliance with anti-money laundering regulations.
The Commission is carrying out a review of Howells’ online casino, sports betting and virtual event betting operator licence under section 116 of the Gambling Act 2005, with the licence suspension remaining in place until the Commission is satisfied that the business is compliant.
The suspension of the licence held by Targetlocal Ltd. takes effect immediately.
The company’s licence suspension comes one year after the launch of its new online betting and gaming offering on the EveryMatrix platform.
