The government of Québec has announced plans to curb illegal online gambling across the Canadian province through a legislative amendment which will require internet service providers to block access to a blacklist of illegal operators.
As part of the government’s second budget tabled by Finance Minister Carlos Leitão last week, Québec has recommended that three of the measures proposed by the Working Group on Online Gambling be implemented during the next fiscal year.
